Although this collection was supposed to be based around an equestrian kind of theme. I think it leaned more in the direction of kind of a London tramp/err brothel kinda thing, mostly towards the end. I mean all the oversized old top-hats, bedraggled looking coats and dresses, fluffy hair, bustier themed dresses (6th picture.) and those thigh high frilly socks/stockings, kind of reminded me of these...
I loved the chiffon dresses in this collection, so Galliano, and the new ways he used fur/hair. Little tufts in necklaces and a kind of layered fringing as seen in picture 4. But I didn't feel as captivated with the show as maybe some others did. The clothes were beautiful but I felt some of the looks felt out of place with the others (see picture 3.) From a commercial point of view, I'm not sure how well the clothes will translate into editorial content and have a good wearability factor. Although I would just love to wear the fur trim jacket in picture 7. I think I would wear it everywhere until my germs disintegrated the fabric and it fell apart. Then knowing my luck I would probably be egged by passing PETA activists for wearing what is now a fur scarf. Anyway, it makes me think of a jacket that was stolen from a wealthy woman's home by a young street urchin with dirty fingernails for his fashion hungry mother. Yes I am full of crap but overall the clothes were beautiful, just vintage Galliano.
